Influences in your art and life:
My paintings are like waking dreams that have great emotional content and focus on the spiritual aspect of life. They deal primarily with family relationships and internal relationships between the self and the divine. The work is narrative and imaginative, figurative and abstract. I strive to have the paintings work on an abstract level focusing on color relationships, interesting shapes, good contrast between light and dark as well as tell the emotional story of my subject. As tall order, but that is what my efforts are geared towards.
Showings & Permanent Exhibits: My work is currently displayed at the Milton Studio Art Gallery. I have twice been accepted into the Durham Art Guild Juried Show for painting and also for my sculpture. I have also received best in show at the Kirby Gallery in 2010 and other recognition in various galleries. I have been showing my work since 1991 in Hillsborough. My next show will be in Carrboro in October of this year.
